About FELDENKRAIS METHOD

The Feldenkrais Method is an approach to movement, posture and breathing which can improve flexibility, co-ordination and ease of moving.

About Jackie

My background is in dance. Having learned ballet from a young age, I trained in contemporary dance, going on to do BA (hons) Related Arts. Having completed an MA in Dance Studies at Surrey University I went on to study with many pioneering New Dance teachers in the '80s and '90s, specialising in Contact Improvisation, which I taught extensively in London in the 1990s. 


Following debilitating back pain in my 30s I had to stop dancing and discovered the Feldenkrais Method, enrolling on a professional training. Half way through my 4 year training my back pain disappeared and in time I found a way back to dancing. Since graduating as a Feldenkrais practitioner in 2002 I have taught in London, mainly in Adult and Higher Education settings.


In 2004 I moved to North East Scotland where I continued my Feldenkrais practice until I came to Frome, Somerset in 2014. I was an Associate Lecturer at Bath Spa University 2015-2022, where I taught movement skills for BA Acting students.
